Andy Phillips is quoted in the Westlaw Journal Insurance Coverage regarding the Juneau County decision that invoices from insurance counsel are public records. Wisconsin’s public-records law allows a newspaper to access invoices that outside litigation counsel prepared when a county’s insurer retained the firm to defend the municipality in an employment matter, the state’s highest court has affirmed in a split decision.
